Learn Next-generation BI tool: PowerPivot

In partnership with SQLBI, Mariner offers PowerPivot workshops to introduce the concepts and techniques needed to implement PowerPivot and make critical business decisions using the most popular BI tool on the planet, Excel.

The PowerPivot Workshop course covers PowerPivot topics, starting from basic concepts to complex data models and DAX formulas. The goal is to guide users in using PowerPivot in the real world.

It is designed for professionals (Excel users, Business Analysts and IT Professionals) who want to use PowerPivot’s full capabilities while identifying specific situations when PowerPivot is not appropriate.

The course outline includes:                                            

  • Introduction to PowerPivot
  • Data loading techniques with different kind of sources: OLTP, DWH, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access and others
  • Data Modeling basics for building PowerPivot data models
  • Full coverage of the DAX programming language, with several hands-on examples
  • Calendar computation and data modeling best practices
  • Advanced data modeling techniques to solve some common scenarios
  • SharePoint integration

A Mariner Consultant will come to your site and deliver the training.  Ideal classes range from 5-10 participants to ensure that each attendee receives the attention needed to experience the benefits of PowerPivot.
